FIELD NOTE 01

Three varieties, multiple years.

Classic Cuvee Multi-Vintage uses Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier, blending wines from multiple vineyards and multiple harvest years. Blending grape varieties and the use of reserve wine are separate aspects. The absence of a single vintage on the label should not be viewed as a sign of lower quality.

FIELD NOTE 02

Do not convert a range to a fixed proportion.

The official page I checked shows a range: Chardonnay 55–65%, Pinot Noir 30–40%, Meunier 5–15%, reserve wine 20–35%. Do not assume their upper limits are combined for a single blend. Read it as explaining variations by lot, and verify any particular bottle with its individual information.

FIELD NOTE 03

Aging and the vintage of documents

While it describes more than three years of cellar aging as standard, the same page also presents records of past vintages. Do not carry over the residual sugar or blend composition of older harvest years to the current Multi-Vintage. Since regional labeling includes both West Sussex and Hampshire, do not assume Sussex PDO based solely on the location—always check the actual label on the bottle.
