FIELD NOTE 01
Peloponnese highlands
Mantinia is located on the high plateau in the north-central Peloponnese. In this cool mountainous area, late-ripening Moschofilero is cultivated. Imagining Greek wine only with warm seaside scenes would overlook the conditions in these vineyards.

FIELD NOTE 02
Floral aroma and dry white wines
Moschofilero’s skins can be reddish or grayish, but it mainly produces dry white wines. Even if it has floral aromas, it does not necessarily mean it has high sugar content. Aromatic impression and degrees of sweetness or dryness should be checked separately.
Although the name and aroma may easily evoke Muscat, Moschofilero and Muscat are separate varieties. By reading the label’s spelling without abbreviation, you can avoid confusion due to similar names.

FIELD NOTE 03
Still white and sparkling white
Sparkling wines are also made from Moschofilero. Wines of Greece presents both the traditional method with second fermentation in bottle, and the tank (Charmat) method with in-tank secondary fermentation.
Even with two bottles of white wine from the same grape variety, in addition to whether they are sparkling or still, the location of secondary fermentation may differ. Before comparing aroma and acidity, check in the product details whether the wine is still or sparkling, and if sparkling, which production method was used.
