Skins are tinged red, mainly used for white
Moschofilero has reddish or grayish skins but is mainly used to make dry white wines. The color of the finished wine is not determined by the skin color alone. Winemaking methods, especially how the juice and skins are handled, are also essential factors.
The cool high plateau of Mantinia
Mantinia on the Peloponnese peninsula is a cool plateau region. From this late-harvested variety, white wines are produced with acidity and floral/citrus aromas. Do not imagine only hot flat regions just because of its southern Greek location.
Uses of the grape variety and the scope of the designation.
There are also rosé examples of Moschofilero. On the other hand, according to the official materials, PDO Mantinia covers still white and sparkling wines, and rosés from this grape cannot be included under the same PDO. It is necessary to separately confirm which varieties are permitted and what wine colors are recognized.

Which styles are mainly produced from grapes with reddish skins?
The color of the skins and the final color of the wine are not the same. Also check that PDO Mantinia covers both still and sparkling white wines. The existence of rosé examples does not mean that such rosés can necessarily use the same PDO labeling.
What are the geographical features of Mantinia?
As a region with altitude and surrounding mountains, check its location within the peninsula.
Can rosé from this variety use the PDO Mantinia name?
Read separately the usage examples of varieties and the regulations of appellations.
