Confirm the 2019 blend, and distinguish between the region’s general characteristics and the château’s unique choices.

Gravel hills and three varieties

Figeac has gravelly hills and a clay subsoil, and grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Just being on the Right Bank does not determine the varieties planted or the blend of the finished wine.

2019 blend

The blend for 2019 is Merlot 30%, Cabernet Franc 36%, Cabernet Sauvignon 34%. The total for the two Cabernets is 70%. This is the composition for the 2019 wine only, and should not be interpreted as a fixed ratio every year.

From the same estate to two different wines

Petit Figeac also uses only grapes grown within the château's estate, with a selection process for the blend. While the overall source of the grapes is shared, it does not necessarily mean the exact same base wines are used.

Check after writing

  • Did you distinguish between the two Cabernet varieties?
  • Whether limited to 2019
  • Are you making assumptions about the proportion of Petit?
