Tracing changes in the nomenclature
The starting wine dates from 1979. In 1989 it became known as Cuvée Annamaria Clementi Riserva, and from the 2008 vintage it was renamed Annamaria Clementi Dosaggio Zero. The current name alone does not reveal past specifications.
Read the 2004 documentation
The 2004 vintage is listed as 1.5g/L dosage, with tirage in March 2005, and an average of 7 years and 6 months aging on lees. The numbers are linked to the technical documentation for this harvest. Even with a low dosage, it cannot be described as zero.
Comparison with 2017
The published 2017 vintage is a dosage zéro with an average of 8 years' lees aging. The two vintages differ not only in dosage but also in vintage of materials and duration of maturation. When comparing taste, do not explain the differences only by added sugar.
