FIELD NOTE 01
From west to east across the lake
La Côte lies between Geneva and Lausanne, and Lavaux lies between Lausanne and Montreux. Further east in Chablais, focus on towns such as Aigle, Yvorne, and Ollon. By following the lakeshore terrain, it becomes unnecessary to memorize each place-name independently.
FIELD NOTE 02
There are also wine regions on the north side
Bonvillars is on the north side of Lake Neuchâtel; Côte de l'Orbe is inland. Vully is also a significant Vaud region and leads to an article on the Three Lakes area. Not all vineyards of Vaud face Lake Geneva.
FIELD NOTE 03
White wine by place name
Chasselas is central, but on labels, the place names Féchy, Yvorne, and Dezaley may sometimes take prominence. As for reds, you find Pinot Noir, Gamay, Gamaret, Garanoir, etc. To describe these wines fully, note not only the variety but also the slope and village location.
Including Bonvillars, Côte de l'Orbe, and other northern and inland regions.
