FIELD NOTE 01

Spanning several states

This is a region that includes the area around Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Biel in Bern, and Vully along Lake Morat. Vully is an appellation that straddles the cantons of Vaud and Fribourg, showing that administrative borders and wine regions do not always match up.

FIELD NOTE 02

Pinot Noir rosé

The Œil-de-Perdrix, which originated in Neuchâtel, is a rosé of Pinot Noir. It’s easy to remember if you link the grape (Pinot Noir), the color (rosé), and the region’s traditional wine name. You can also compare it to Pinot Noir reds from the same area.

FIELD NOTE 03

The choice of unfiltered

Non Filtré is a signature unfiltered Chasselas bottling. Unlike rosé, this is a procedural feature: skipping filtration and extracting color from skins are separate operations. Distinguish between color differentiation and pre-bottling treatment by their placement in the process flow.

Key points of this article
