FIELD NOTE 01

Separate country and region names

This deals with the Republic of Moldova bordering Romania and Ukraine. Although it shares history with the Moldovan region of eastern Romania, the present countries and origin systems are different. First, confirm the positions of the national borders, Prut River, and Dniester River.

FIELD NOTE 02

Comparing central and south

Codru in the central area is marked by a landscape of forests and hills, which is an entry point to studying white and sparkling wines. To the southeast is Ștefan Vodă, and to the southwest is Valul lui Traian, where red varieties also become important. Aside from north-south differences, add factors such as river terraces and hillside orientation.

FIELD NOTE 03

Distinguish between vineyard and cellar

Cricova and Mileștii Mici’s underground cellars are famous, but storage location and the origin of raw grapes are separate pieces of information. Don't confuse cellar size or depth with vineyard conditions; return to the labelled region and production method. Study white, red, and sparkling wines in parallel.

Key points of this article

Cannot be determined. Check the origin of the vineyard separately from the locations of winemaking, aging, and storage.
